We have “conscious self”, which many of us have the autopilot on, meaning they can’t really do anything about how they feel or act. It’s just the environment that makes them feel or react in a certain way. It is the cause of others’ actions and behavior and the cause of events, that is making them to feel depressed. Work can be stressful and that’s why we get depressed, because of workload (the long list of undone work) and colleagues (have to be better than them and if they are mean to us). We think we don’t have any responsibility for it. Of course, it can be that when you work hard, and you have realized that work stress does not make you have a burnout, but it’s how you think about undone work, that results in burnout or not. You should disregard your thinking of undone work. Of course, there are signs that your brain is no longer keeping up – then at times you can have memory problems. Therefore, you should always address that cause – that is, you work too hard and you are under pressure for a long time – then eliminate the problem wherever possible.

Then we have this subconscious mind, over which we have no conscious and direct power. Think imaginatively that you are throwing a dart. Think not to be thrown at seven. Close your eyes and say, “don’t throw to hit seven”. What did you hit? You saw how imaginatively you threw seven. Of course, you hit seven because our brains don’t know the word “no”. So, you imaginatively programmed your hand to throw a seven. Similarly, orders can be given to the subconscious by affirmations, self-hypnosis, tapping, recordings with a certain wavelength, which makes the brain more receptive, etc. Affirmations are declaration that something is true, and you can say it loud to yourself and then it affects the subconscious. Nowadays, there are many different types of relaxation programs, with stories added to it in order to program the subconscious into certain things. The good thing about the subconscious is that while it accepts things, it is very critical to things that you don’t want to accept. That’s why it’s hard to say I hit the middle of the dartboard – bullseye. You don’t believe it yourself. Often people say, don’t throw the dart too far right, if the previous dart went too far right and then the dart you are going to throw will go too far right. For this reason, it is good to think about what you are talking to yourself. So, when you say to yourself “don’t be stupid”, it means “be stupid”. If you say “don’t hit bullseye” then there’s a better chance of hitting bullseye. Imaginatively you see that you hit the bullseye, but it’s still a long way to go for us, who are not so good darts throwers, to be a good thrower. Saying the likelihood of hitting what you’re throwing at – your power, your direction, etc. – makes it fly to where you “aim” with these in mind. Therefore, a good darts thrower will benefit from this. It doesn’t make us bad throwers to masters in throwing darts – the technique must still be good – it just helps mentally that you can more often throw darts as good as you can.

You should take advantage of how you speak to yourself, that is, speak positively and what you really want. What you see mentally will also happen to you. Here, you should use your subconscious mind and, in the evening, think about the things you want to achieve. Then you let your subconscious think about how you will achieve those goals – without you somehow controlling and telling yourself that you cannot achieve it.

Our subconscious is our strongest weapon – take advantage of it!
